I remember taking a free online IQ test, and my score was 144 … not sure how accurate, good or bad it was.
The focus then shifted to emotional intelligence (EQ), but experts could not allocate numbers as scores.
MBTI, Firo-B and many other tests followed. It was fun taking those tests after a long gap and observing how we have changed over the years.
Some of these tests are mandatory in the recruitment procedure, hence, we had to take them – like it or not. However, I enjoyed conducting these exercises in training sessions.
I think I’ve grown beyond numbers now. It’s not so easy to box me in a watertight compartment and description. I enjoy the discomfiture of those conducting the tests on me, at times.
My coaching trainer was testing us on NLP assumptions. The theory is that one looks above on the left if imagining something or making up a story, and above on the right if accessing memory for details. He asked me certain questions, and I was not looking up at all. He concluded that I’m taking details from a place where memories have already been downloaded. It is not a live transmission.

Very interesting post, Reena. I very much enjoy all type of tests and puzzles.
Your post inspired to take one few min. ago. It was free but for result they asked for Rs.999. This Note was given for free,
‘You completed the test in 41:20 minutes.
It seems that you are highly competent in Visuospatial Insight.’ Result I don’t know.

You may be a combination of visual + ki aesthetic types. In general, just think if your preferred mode of learning or communication is reading (visual), touching and feeling (kinaesthetic) or listening (auditory).
Digital and audio visual kind of tilt the balance, and changes results. I used to be visual in 2001, but am a digital type now.

I’ve taken severy IQ tests during my lifetime. One of them was to secure a job I already had while the company I worked for was conducting a major layoff. Though I kept my job, I feel IQ tests put one in a box.

The fun starts when results from different tests clash.

“I enjoy the discomfiture of those conducting the tests on me, at times.” LOL! You are evil! 🙂 I like the MBTI test.

The MBTI was criticised for killing confidence when someone said only extroverts make more money. That was too generalized a statement.

That’s really to bad. As an “I”, I can say there’s a lot of value there as well. But I guess money talks in this world…

Nice post, Reena as I really enjoyed this. Assumptions and presuppositions are methods where we have a premise and from that we make a conclusion, and this is how we make our beliefs about what is true and who is deemed to be intelligent.

Results on different parameters are what really matter in the long run. People highly successful in one sphere can fail miserably in others.

That is an above average IQ. I’m not a fan of any standardized testing. Not everything can be measured, as you’ve said somewhat.
