Messages from the Dead

The encounters with the paranormal are not all my own, but experienced by me and my close family whom I trust.

MY DOG

Chappy is perhaps my most loved child (a furry, 4-legged one) whom I lost in 2005. I was broken completely, as I was going through a tough phase and she left me to make it all the more difficult.

On her last day, she was vomiting blood, and we were waiting for my husband to reach from Bombay. My doctor brother-in-law said that a dog’s body has 2 -2.5 litres of blood, but she had thrown out much more than that. At that moment, it gave me hope that fresh blood is being generated in the body. But no, she was prolonging life waiting for my husband to arrive.

Later, he told me that at one point during his journey, he silently spoke to her saying “If you are suffering too much, go peacefully.” And within a minute he received a message from me – “Destiny overtook a mother’s will.” She was gone.

There was a power failure for 3-4 minutes in the three-storey building when she left. I’d heard that window glasses can crack when a powerful soul leaves, but this was my first experience.

After that, when I’d come home and miss her warm welcome, I saw the light in the bathroom go on and off a couple of times. I called an electrician to check, but there were no loose connections. She used to spend a lot of time in the corridor outside the bathroom and bedroom. Perhaps, it was her signal to me that she was around in spirit.

MY FATHER

My mother was grappling with insurance claims and taking charge of his investments after he passed away. His financial advisor said there was one more insurance policy which she could not find anywhere.

After a hectic search, she just fell asleep. She says she saw him guide her to a particular drawer inbuilt in the bed. He said, “Open this and you’ll find a green cardboard file.” Well, on waking up, she did find the green file in the mentioned place.

Souls continue to care.

 A RELATIVE

A young man died of total lung failure after fighting Covid for two months. He had been a great father to his two lovely daughters – 4 and 8 years old respectively.

His wife’s cousin (who is perhaps an empath – let’s call her E) heard some sounds from the kids’ room late in the night and went to check. She was shivering with a notepad in hand, as she heard him identify himself and speak. He had a few messages to be delivered.

His wife is a nice person and should not trust his father who had been creating trouble for them. She should cut off relationships with her father-in-law.

His younger daughter might have trouble in accepting truth, and that her favourite yellow frock was kept at the neighbour’s house. Perhaps the laundry guy left it there, as everybody was in the hospital.

His daughter was wearing that yellow frock during his third-day post-death ceremonies. His spirit would have known that the messages reached.

E’s grandmother also visited her after death with a message that a gold ring was placed inside the folds of a blue silk saree in a particular shelf of the wardrobe. It is not the usual place to store jewellery but yes, the family found it there.
