What kind of -noia?

She wished she could have said No to a dear friend showing off his research pursuits. She regretted visiting the Zoology lab and seeing life forms pickled in formaldehyde.

And now she lived in perpetual fear of revenge being plotted by those mercilessly killed.

One of them grows up to be a dinosaur attacking her window. Mother mentioned a stormy night and the havoc it caused in her carefully tended garden. Was it really the dinosaur?

She senses tentacles of an octopus encircle her as Mom gives her an anti-allergen to get over the nasty itch.

But what about this one with ink blue arms? It looks like a mutant who will destroy the forest. Should she inform the forest officer who happens to be her father’s friend?

She is in the psychiatrist’s ante-room with her father. Father does not understand. He is unable to see the blue tentacles outside the window. Maybe lives of people working here are in danger. She is not paranoid, just more attuned to her surroundings and sensitive to presence of other life forms.

They give her a sympathetic look and say it will take only ten more minutes.

Ten more minutes … to what?

    1. I wonder if preying on each other for food was intended as part of the Maker’s scheme. Then comes the part where humans kill or maim or torture other beings for reasons other than food.
