scraping wounds
to let new skin breathe
I find debris
made up of memories
once treasured
now not so right
I go around hunting
for a bin
to dispose pain
guiltlessly
put it out of sight
allow energy
from other zones
to broaden vision
redefine life
cast a new light
on future life
etch new stories
on sands of time, everyday
to let them wash away
without a fight

It’s said, only when we embrace our shadows can we reach the light. Your poem gives me that same feeling.

Reena, we were talking about transforming negative energy to positive energy in our dream group on Thursday. Your poem reinforces the idea for me.

May I know more about this dream group?

It’s a group of people who meet every 2 weeks. We bring our dreams to share and deconstruct them on a dry erase board. It’s based on Jungian principles and world mythology.

Guiltlessly burying our pain seems like a contradiction most oof the time. Well done.
