Tropical Climes

In a country with moody weather, but no autumn
acclimatised to change, but left wondering
Are we really prepared for what is to come?
History is no reliable indicator of the future
It’s a myth; winter follows rains, but no autumn

Fall colours on ramps, shops, handheld screens
I paint a leaf in tangerine, fill a glass with white rum
Trees still a verdant green, against a cloudy sky
nip in the air, winter in tropical climes welcome
Mirrors say I’m not young, but not old either
What kind of twilight is this, with no autumn

  1. This is soo beautiful! I especially love; “I paint a leaf in tangerine, fill a glass with white rum/Trees still a verdant green, against a cloudy sky.” ❤️❤️❤️

  2. I agree with Björn, I couldn’t live in a place without autumn – it’s my favourite season. But I love the way you create autumn for yourself in the lines:
‘I paint a leaf in tangerine, fill a glass with white rum’.
