What’s so blue about the Moon?

The sky is a deep shade of purple, but blue moons remind me of blue blood – humans believed to be extraordinary in some way, by themselves or others.

a named privilege
for a moon on its orbit
gift of rare vision

Can you smell my blood on your hands, the red bleeding its way to the sky, contaminating its much-hyped blue colour?

When the rarity of blue moons fades, and the sky returns to its usual multifarious shades, I wish awareness dawns on you – of atrocities committed in the belief that you are above all, you are the sky – a shade of burgundy or purple.

it’s the night
for another moon
not so blue
