(Un)Reachable

It’s not a fear, just aversion.

The hatred, resentment, conspiracies all make me feel like I’ve been there before, but it’s not a zone I’d like to re-enter.

I can feel it in my bones, but I can’t extract that one toxic ingredient and give it a name -it’s not a person, but a widely prevalent feeling of a mob that does not like people rising above it.

They continue to malign, to humiliate in an attempt to project themselves as superior.

They fear that one voice or an emerging moon on a dark night will expose their hollowness.

But the beauty of the moon shines best in the dark, and its silence can be heard on close contact – only if you manage to reach there and hear its heartbeats.

  1. Title and subject matter go hand in hand. There is no reaching, extracting those caught up in the “mob mentality”. It is infectious and dangerous. We’re going to need an awful lot of shining, bright “moons” because the darkness seems to be spreading.
