Destiny Turns

On a dark night
the moon is put to sleep
as it threatens to spill secrets
well-concealed in sunlight
where yellowed vision
eyes covered with glares
see colours they choose
and paint stories with it

On a dark night
winds at a standstill
let clouds look ominous
Destiny turns in its hideaway
stretches multifarious arms
-ready to unveil the future
all those deep in slumber
miss the challenge and charm

It’s another day- not so strange
news channels roll out change
Wasn’t it all expected? Yes…
the moon will grow in phases
casting a new light
on what happened that night
the tune to which stars danced
dismissed as happenstance

  1. I’ve read your piece several times and I love the depth and the intrigue. It’s like there should be more to the story and wanting to know what happens next. Brilliant writing, Reena.

  2. This poem makes me think of the calm after a nighttime thunderstorm in the south. like everything is still and quiet and there is a layer of dew on the ground.
