Rainbow in the Sky

I paint a rainbow on the sky.

The lighthouse waits for a ship to pass. The lighthouse keeper stopped coming, as advanced technology took over. I feel its loneliness, and the feeling of irrelevance in the absence of ships seeking guidance.

I move the torchlight on the wooden benches.

Where have all the people gone? Are they glued to their small screens, as the heavenly drama plays out above.

I look inwards, and ask whom am I waiting for.

Well, no one in particular …. but yet the presence of people, animals or birds feels good. How peaceful is peace in the absence of action?

I let the rainbow fade away and share the image on social media where people see it and feel envious of the blissful moments, I lived … or missed.

  1. This line got me thinking – “How peaceful is peace in the absence of action?” – probably because I’m now in a state of having time on my hands, and where I am is peaceful! Interestingly, I’m excited about it, but also twiddling my thoughts and thumbs, maybe even a bit bored. But I guess overall, it’s good to slow down. πŸ˜‰
