Hostage

I walk fast on a path I don’t want to be on, but time moves slow.

I know a certain distance is to be covered, till I reach somewhere … somewhere I want to be, or somewhere different from this place. I can accelerate movement with a faster vehicle, or taking a shortcut.

I’ve reached a place after decades, after looking for the perfect vehicle and after framing words and maps for the perfect place.

liberation is
changing paths or changing dreams
desires hold hostage

  1. I think most of us have been in that position, Reena, as if on treadmill, we go as fast as we can but don’t seem to get anywhere. I don’t believe in perfect, but I do agree with the sentiment in your haiku: a change is as good as a rest.
