of those who think
they define contemporary

Vintage is what lends value
to a historian or
archaeologist’s work
or a fashionista
running out of ideas

Vintage is digging into
closets or attics
when there’s time to spare
and you can return to life
without a hint of care
for what you posted on
handles for likes

Vintage is an era
smiling at visitors
from the future
watching them with glee
spinning on time machines
free-wheeling, connecting
without knowing
what they’re doing

Vintage is value
for what you were
but no regard for
what you are
