The diplomat with an unblemished record retires today, and the auditorium reverberates with eulogies and high praise. Some people conjecture he will soon enter politics.
“But what do you think he has been doing so far? It ain’t easy keeping so many stakeholders happy”, whispers a detractor, “If you don’t do politics, politics will do you.”
The supporter holds a different view, “It is necessary to first build an inner coalition and then a wider world-wide network, and he successfully forged international bonds.”
Sadly, the evidence to expose his misdeeds is buried abroad, beyond the reach of lawmakers and law-keepers.

But there’s always the Press to ferrit these things out! Nice one, Reena.

Thank you, Liz! The press ‘feeds on sores’ as Ayn Rand would have liked to put it. The British Royal Family saga proves the point.

True. Flash fiction is only a slice of life 😊 There is always a prologue and epilogue.

There might be something to this: “If you don’t do politics, politics will do you.”
