Egg

Egg — by Aboli Mane

Aboli Mane's avatarA Writer In The Room

A golden egg laid in a golden nest
ensconed atop the gold leaved tree
dazzling but unspectacular
in a place that amplifies
this burnished patina
in hollowed glamour.

Was the egg laid by a finch with
incandescent sunburst wings?
then once the bird has flown
consumed by its brilliance
the egg awaits a speck of truth
unfadingly authentic

resurrection.

Written for Reena’s Xploration Challenge #275.

This poem ended up having a spiritual bent but you can interpret it however you like. Happy Good Friday/Easter in advance πŸ˜„.
