It is not. A high profile woman who murdered her own daughter is trying to prove that the daughter is still alive and was seen somewhere. This is a real case, but can become a good story plot.

The rich who are guilty seem to hire the best lawyers.

Their charges per minute are mind-boggling, but the rich hardly get imprisoned, unless opposed by strong political forces.

Alas, the system is self-perpetuating. The dishonest (or unscrupulous) are the only ones who would work for those who insist on winning at any and all cost.
