I believe that synchronicity is the result of the universe sending us signals for something we don’t understand.
It happens to me in small ways all the time. You think about someone, and the person calls. A delayed parcel arrives just as you plan to lodge a complaint. My husband and I may think about the same thing at the same time.
Manifestation is more complex. I’ve not been able to achieve anything so far.
It is possible that your ex-wife was receiving signals of something on the way, rather than sending out or manifesting. It made her think or talk about the topic.
I’m not aware of any research on the subject which makes it true for everyone. Maybe sensitivity or receptivity varies from person to person. And we’ve never been taught to decode it. It is randomly labeled intuition or a hunch. We are reluctant to express it, as we fear being ridiculed. What if it does not happen that way?
My maternal grandfather said he sighted a future incident during his meditation, but forgot it. He recalled it only when it actually happened. It was about his daughter being widowed. His guru told him not to talk about such coincidences, as the power achieved through meditation might be lost or diluted.
I believe that incidents of public interest should be spoken about, at the risk of being ridiculed. It might help people be prepared for disasters.
Your post relates to time travel you brought up earlier. Maybe the future already exists in some form, and some people are able to catch it.

I agree

My ex-wife may have been receiving signals from aliens for all I know, but this was not the same thing as synchronicity. I wonder how many people actually have a guru. Is that common where you live?

Not really. My grandpa was part of a religious group and did have one.
