it’s not muscular as vision
nor transforming as touch
it reverberates in the world
like sound, dispersing much
its omnipresence hits me hard
on my sneezing morning bout
what irritates nasal chambers
what has so much of clout
it kick starts a good morning
as the aha aroma of coffee
permeates my lazy senses
banishes sleep powerfully
my dog wakes up from slumber
as the master’s car turns the bend
I wonder if she hears or smells him
if she is a messenger godsend
Smelling feels like power
for it’s so intangible
within the reach of everyone
being universally perceptible

This is so thoughtful and interesting. You have caused me to think about smell in a different way. It is kind of magical isn’t it? Can’t be seen or touched. It just is! Thanks for this fascinating contribution.
