Goodbye, yellow brick road

ADVENTURE
Break the alphabet
to write a new spelling
this one is skewed
with U creeping in between
It’s UR venture
I see callow cadets
brandishing bayonets
showing crowds
the only path to success

Goodbye, yellow brick road
I retreat
to write my own story
where words are not
defined by bibliophiles
redefining saps me
I’d rather reinvent
your norms defied
not deified

It doesn’t matter
if roads are blue or red
-it’s energy not fed
-life-force not bled
-vision not dead
dreams are
images unseen
things unsaid….

This is no recycled hash
Palettes have
colors beyond rainbows
lyrics sing
words unheard
surfaces gossamer
airy texture

Is it the future?
I’m not sure
there’s no structure
that confines
It just deconstructs,
un-defines

  1. This is exquisitely woven! I love; “Goodbye, yellow brick road I retreat to write my own story where words are not defined by bibliophiles redefining saps me I’d rather reinvent
your norms defied not deified.” ❤❤❤

  2. A reflective write …. I am most smitten with these words
    “I’d rather reinvent
    your norms defied
    not deified”
That to me is an incredibly assertive and affirming statement.
