captures hearts
you gather appreciation
with a stolen glance
tilt of the neck,
then walk away
wrapped in vanity
hoping to leave
trails of bleeding hearts
they are busy admiring
the next model on the ramp

Absolutely true. What a relief it could be to know you’re not the only one being broken into pieces by critical eyes, once you change your perspective. Hopefully she learns to “gather appreciation” in a healthier way, and for more important (and less fleeting) things.
