Knowing English does not equal being intelligent. These days being multilingual is needful.

One only needs to read any research report written for a peer reviewed journal to know that the writer does not care if the average person understands it. So true.

It’s made us Brits very lazy when it comes to learning foreign tongues, we automatically assume that wherever we travel, we’ll be understood.

I guess there are European countries which may not be fluent in English. Asians have adapted better due to political and commercial interactions.
