it’s so easy to sign up for something
someone’s teaching tribal art, and
I think I’m creative
-understanding
art forms
takes more
than wielding pens
choosing from ink and paint
-the artist explains the background
in a language I barely understand
but the vibrancy of chosen colors
takes me to nature inspiring
her imagination
worlds she lives in
not same
as mine
Yes, I’ll take time
to attain perfection
decipher lines, motifs, colors
to just match nimble moves of her fingers
The verse form chosen is Balance for Tanka Tuesday Weekly Prompt
The tribal art form depicted here, which I started to learn yesterday is Gond art.

Reena, this is fantastic! You are so talented, my friend. I love your poetry and your art work sings. ❤

Great poem, Reena! Forms of art are so vastly different. While we may excel in one, we may struggle in another. Still, it’s fun to try! 🙂
