Ominous

The voice at the other end is sharp, and the message in the answering machine ominous.

“You are suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia. I’ve collected the report.”

She calls back.

“How much time do I have?”

“You need to see the oncologist. He will advise the future path of treatment.”

“Do I have enough time to get you out of drug-addiction?”

She’s his therapist, and also his step-daughter.

“It’s not your problem any more. Don’t assume sainthood, just because your mother told you so..”

“If you make her life miserable, I don’t have much left to lose by killing you.”
