Between the Covers

Eileen does not want to be in Chapter 1 ….she’d rather appear a little late when Morris has committed mistakes and she has an opportunity to change his life, that is if he is willing to mend his ways.

I see myself as a creator of both, but they show no respect for the plot of my story.

What happens between the covers of a book is a writer’s nightmare. The  characters jump and dance around to suit their whims and fancies, but also stimulate my imagination in the process.

The publisher’s phone rings … I can’t wait to see Eileen and Morris frozen for posterity between the covers. I wish them all the best and hope they find new lives in the minds of the readers.

  1. That is the magic of writing. When characters become living, breathing “people” with a life they’d rather tell you about themselves instead of you writing it for them 🙂
    Yours and Doug’s Six remind of the movie Stranger than Fiction. I can appreciate the concept a little better now 😁

  6. I’m with you and Peter Wells the secret magic of writing stories (books or Sixes) is when the characters establish their own existence. I’ve sometimes said, about writing, that if I’m lucky I meet characters who are willing and patient enough to tell me the story. I’m kind of just a stenographer.

  10. I can’t imagine writing a book. It tires me to even think about it. I am very happy that not everyone is like me. Life would be sad without books.
