“You are cordially invited to a gala night of entertainment organized by inmates of Golden Years and their well-wishers,” says the invitation to the doctor. Golden Years is an old age home in the neighborhood, which he often visits to help residents with their recurring health issues.
The last few months have been different though. One hears infectious laughter and endless chatter from the common lawns, and the doctor claims no credit for that.
The rambunctious energy of kids from the orphanage and two furry companions have made all the difference. God bless the pure souls, who make doctors redundant!

Energy begets energy. Laughter and engagement. What better way than to bring kids and dogs into the picture. Everyone, in my opinion, is the better for it!

It sounds like orphanages, old age homes and pet shelters should be put together.

Good idea! 👍 Till then, find arrangements for existing ones.

We have a community here that often has children and teens visit. They also have cats and dogs visit. All before COVID, but hopefully, the visits will begin again soon.

I heard of a hospital which has done this. They let kids and dogs visit the patients, and it has made a lot of difference.
