On the move

colors, flavours
tactile inspirations
aroma of good food
onset of celebrations

infusion of novelty
in small doses
keeps up excitement
one smells the roses

wrapped up in balls
to weave creativity
I know it’s all short-lived
with my mortality

enjoying all that I can
and prepared to go
I may not see next summer
or vast expanse of snow

Share all one can
love, joy, bubbles, laughter
I hope to leave pain behind
In this world and thereafter

  1. Reena,
I love the poem’s “move” from celebration to recognition (“I know it’s all short-lived/with my mortality”) to resolve (“share all one can”). It flows effortlessly, even jauntily, as images juggle against one another, and by the end, a release into hope. Well done.
