Holding a mirror

If I hold a mirror to you, will you recognise yourself?
You may call me disfigured, broken or ugly
You may say conforming is the only way to go
Will you see shades of your fractured self in me?

You may call me disfigured, broken or ugly
For all that is different, is alien to you
Will you see shades of your fractured self in me?
If you do - will you have the courage to say so?

For all that is different, is alien to you
If I hold a mirror, will you see yourself?

  1. Thought-provoking piece, Reena! Sometimes we see only what we want to see depending on our mood. When I look in the mirror, I see a life not wasted, which motivates me to keep on keepin’ on.
