“I thought Nelson is the suspect.”

“He is. But he is not stupid enough to do things openly in broad daylight, and get caught.”

“So?”

“So, track the shadows. Shadows speak the truth. Then, make corrections in size to get an accurate assessment of the scale of fraud.”

He was so damn right. We had Nelson in the dock in a short time. The methodology was so accurate, that it became my standard operating procedure for detection of large scale frauds.
