I am not

I am
what you never expected me to be

antithesis of expectations
resistant to regulations
I do not fit in the box
you painstakingly created for me

I am
What you never expected me to be

  1. I love this. It’s so eloquently written and beautiful. Putting people in boxes is confining them to certain expectations, and expectations are hard to live by especially when put forward by someone else. That is not truly living then. That would be living as a hollow shell, following the ideal that someone else wants you to be.

It’s pure freedom to be who you truly are; no more constraints. That’s what I love about this piece. It is absolutely honest and freeing.

  2. It is a hard life conforming to the expectations of someone else. It is a slow strangulation of who you are. And it is not love to force someone to live in that box. So good on you for not going into it.
