It is what I’ve grown up with.
A kindly soul with a straggly beard, torn clothes and a guitar took me under his wings, when I was a kid starving on the streets. I learnt how to earn money with music, from Lenovo. Life was good, till Lenovo did not wake up one morning. He had moved on, leaving his guitar and meagre belongings to me.
This stage is not what I’d grown up with. I learnt how to fend for myself. It was the pit in my stomach, and the blue eyes of that girl… it kept me going.

A sad story, let’s hope he can get by with someone else.

A quiet love story, a change in lifestyle because of pretty blue eyes. Nice.

I like this story, in particular the way you contrast the narrator’s present lifestyle as a performer with his childhood spent on the streets, learning his craft as a musician. You hint subtly that he’s ambivalent about the change, but love keeps him going. Nice work!
