Twisted shapes

It feels nice to be back home after three decades.

Other countries help us earn more, but one remains emotionally starved of connections, of companionship. I plan a meet for my old friends who are still there. It is hard work, but I’ll make it worthwhile.

I still feel starved, even wonder if the connections I made in that country were better. We had struggled and survived together.

As I say goodbye, I notice the rods twisting out of shape. Is my vision getting blurry, or have I twisted reality out of shape. Beliefs are not always true.
