“I’m a life planner, not a financial planner.”
“So what do you do?” The tone is sceptical.
The speaker recounts the story of a client, who had a huge surplus amount at 65 years of age. He needed a direction to do what his heart desired, not just investment avenues.
“I got it”, the young CFP shrugged his shoulders. “I help people plan vacations, and you help those whose life is a long vacation.”

That’s not a bad problem for his client to have, though it is kind of sad that people need coaching to follow their bliss. Probably because through life that path isn’t always valued or validated by others.

I realised one thing during coach training – ppl do it bcoz they get an opportunity to talk about themselves during peer coaching sessions. There are some helplines springing up which say “Just call. We’ll listen.”
The ‘listening’ by a coach helps more than the ‘questioning’.

good job. i got into this quickly and like the idea of life being one long vacation…not that there’s no work, just that there is so much joy.
