I’m afraid of laughter

it purges me

of so much

sarcasm, relief

camaraderie

emotional inlays

 

I know not

how to process

remnants of heaviness

to pull a little

companionship

my way

 

tears repel you

authenticity scares

I’m too sharp and raw

the same you last saw

I found nothing worthwhile

to sway

 

I can’t recall

when did I laugh last

whole-heartedly

when emojis

shocked by real-ness

slithered away
