Striking gold

“We’ve struck gold,” exclaimed Tony.

“I expected you to clean up the room by now. It was a long queue at the supermarket.” Anna looked exhausted.

“Anna, this used to be an artist’s home who walked out on his wife. And she had no regard for his artwork.”

“Why are we researching their life, instead of setting up the house?”

“We will, Anna … much better than you had ever dreamt of.” She stopped in her tracks to see the gleam in his eyes.

“The famous artist is dead. There are many more paintings in the attic. We’ve struck gold.”

  1. Poor Anna! Exhausted from her trip to the supermarket, she comes home to find her husband daydreaming. Even if he’s right about the paintings it will be a long time before they can be sold, and in the meantime they need a properly cleaned house!

  2. From what we’re learning in dealing with my sister-in-law’s estate, I think these two had better find an honest attorney, post-haste. Relatives of the artist will come out of every possible crevice and out from under rocks. This isn’t going to be as easy as he thinks.
