Eden saw doubt in their trembling smiles, they never expected her to recover.
She knew she will be shifted to a mental asylum soon. The family was already planning a life without her, rather a life without her bouts of insanity.
She saw floating images from the past – moments of achievement, appreciation, happiness. There was an all-pervading sense of helplessness, of not being able to retain what she once possessed.
The images of mental asylums on TV shows also crossed her mind. Is that going to be her new world? Suddenly hope sprung at the core of her existence. That is a world which does not know her past, and will accept her for what she is now.
She will be able to live free of expectations rooted in the past.
