Ownership

It is not the same lock. I distinctly remember the brass lock I had put there.

Twenty years have elapsed. Generation Next has taken over. But there are secrets I know – there is only one route to reach the treasure, and it can change lives. I’ll wait for them to come and ask. It will help them, not me.

By how many degrees has the earth moved on its own axis? Months, years, decades – will soon turn to a century. I see prosperity around me. They have found new treasures.

It is not the same lock. Ownership has changed hands.

  1. We are presently in the process of clearing out the belongings of a close relative who died sometime in September. Her treasures are not ours. Most of them will be trashed or taken to an antique shop and sold for pennies on the dollar.

    The lock is definitely different.
