I am the black sheep in the family my mother looks down upon, and humiliates at the drop of a hat. I tried hard to come up to her expectations, and then reached a conclusion that it isn’t necessary. I’m happy to live my life in the way I want.
There was a housebreak in her absence, and her favorite antiques were stolen. Her ashen face brought a strange sense of relief, as if a burden was lifted.
It was just for that one day she’d trusted me with the house-keys, and it was my golden chance for revenge.

Oh, a vengeful twist. Good crafting of psychology in your 99 words, Reena!

An intriguing tale. The intended act of revenge actually brought the mother relief. I wonder what happens next.

I love the middle bit. I think that paragraph would make a great stand-alone story or the opening to a book.
