they swim with tides
for the day’s catch
get rich with schemes
not all humane
they hold secrets
they nurture bonds
they protect their kind
ignorance they feign
we intellectuals
in ivory castles
just- look down
with disdain
the world conquered – so what
we give it to them
sky and earth meet
but not the twain
Give it to them

Beautiful word choices and rhyme scheme, and deep message.

You are welcome. I often read the poems aloud and that helps me.

A thought-provoking piece, Reena! It seems the makeup of the world is very much a “they” vs “we”, and not seeing eye to eye! I love this because of it of its depth and timeliness. Thank you for joining the challenge! 🙂
