the sun speaks to me
every morning
while the moon sulks
wanting to pull me back
in the uncertainties
of a waxing and waning world
I choose light
I choose visibility
shadows turning to silhouettes
then faces with expressions
telling different stories
two phases of the same world
I need to fill colors
in shadowy silhouettes
I need to hear sounds
from the world I inhabit
and create music from
breathing sounds in the world
Sunrise matters
for life to move on
to end the short break
I enjoy dreams ....
then reality pulls ... unrelenting
as the Sun and the world
I love the first stanza.(and the rest of it too!) It sets the stage beautifully for the rest of the piece.
