They think I’m insane

There’s something about you that makes me run
inside myself, away from the world
They think I’m isolated, I’m insane

your footsteps in my space arcane
violates all for what I stand
There’s something about you that makes me run

Out in the wilderness, non-stop, on and on…
A few kindred spirits lurk around
They think I’m isolated, I’m insane

Do I see a lion without his mane?
Bereft of courage, misplaced in clouds
There’s something about you that makes me run

Longing to be back on my terrain
They give me a veil, I want a shroud
They think I’m isolated, I’m insane

Set me free, untie knots and chains
I scream, but nobody hears a sound
There’s something about you that makes me run
They think I’m isolated, I’m insane

  1. This is so intense. I especially love these lines, “They think I’m isolated, I’m insane/
Set me free, untie knots and chains.” And as for that undefinable uneasiness, you nailed it with “There’s something about you that makes me run.” (An alternate title for this could well be Define Gaslighting.)
