Beliefs fire perception

blinding light
 shadows consciousness
 my accustomed eyes
 look for comfort 
 in seeded beliefs.
  
 I need preconceived notions
 to compare and authenticate
 visible beauty
 Is it true, have I seen it before,
 or is it an artist’s imagination?

   1. You need to know what a cat looks like – to recognize a cat when you see one. Yet, it can turn into the classic egg-first-or-chicken story.
