PROMPT
- You are made of stardust, and to stardust you will return
RESPONSE
Stardust is hydrogen and helium and some more, and so are elements of earth. We glamorize our building blocks, and compare with a shining object in the sky, to motivate people.
Building blocks are life givers, and yet so elementary. It is the combination that makes all the difference. Our creativity stretches from arranging Lego blocks to building a blockchain. It is considered to be the next internet, as everything will be built on blockchain.
Are we learning our lessons from the universe? Why are stars so romantic, but depend on the Sun? Why is the Sin so fierce, yet so wanted? The human mind can channelize solar energy to facilitate life, but struggle to achieve stardom?
I choose the Erasure form of poetry here, and the base is a poem by Samuel Ilingworth.
Here is my take on that masterpiece –
the universe EXPLODED
cutting through space time
remnants of that blast
forgot the heat
of their ferocious past
hydrogen and helium
clouds of dust and gas
built bonds that would last
coming together under gravity
to form stars
so massive
they eventually collapsed
under the weight
of their own
gravitational narcissism

Very powerful…and the final line is my favorite!

Come to think of it stars are narcistic in nature….and the greater the star the more narcistic. You can tell by the clothing at the Oscars. I think like you I prefer the real stars.

Any day. Narcissist stars also manage to get their clothing ‘sourced’. They return it after the event is over, after the designer has received due publicity.
