A wing fell off, right in middle of the act, and little Linda forgot her lines.
She could get up and walk. She could recognize her classmates and teachers in the audience, who were not there, a while ago. What happened to all those elves and sister fairies, who were guiding her to reach out to slum children for Thanksgiving, Santa Claus did not come around on this day, so she had a mission to be fulfilled.
But … it appeared that she had lost her memory. The spell had broken.
She got up and limped, head down, towards the side wings of the stage. The curtain dropped on the act, as the compere made some announcements about an injury, and unfortunate closure of the act.
She was just Linda Goldsmith again, not Linda, the Golden Fairy. Why do fairies identify so much with wings? There are legs, and aeroplanes and good intentions all around. One just needs to do the right things.

How right, there are good intentions everywhere.
