“I’ve spent several mornings looking at the embedded figurines, trying to locate a pattern. Often, I fantasize about what they will have to say, if they came to life – to me and to each other. Was this pattern created or just superimposed on them? Did they live full, independent lives, or just enacted predetermined roles?”
“That’s quite a lot for idling away your mornings, when you could have done something more productive.”
“Yes, I go back to my desk after that. The result of these musings is an award-winning novel.”

Great story, nice punch line. Without reflection there won’t be stories.

Not a waste of time to reflect and gather ideas, then put them to good use. Nicely done.
