The disappearing tail-lights of a car, scar my psyche forever.
I think about Sita, who was sent to the forest by her husband, the revered Lord Ram, because a stranger cast aspersion on her purity. She found support in a writer’s abode, who immortalized her life, in the epic he wrote – Ramayana. I think about Princess Shupnakha, whose nose and ears were cut off by the prince of a kingdom and caused an epic war- but she could not regain her place in the folds of society.
I live in better times. I am neither Princess nor Queen, but certainly more independent. I don’t want this story of abandonment to be ever written. I will just eliminate certain characters and thoughts from life, and move on.
It will be the best revenge ever – blank pages if somebody cares to flip through the book again.

That is a really interesting concept, writing a book of one’s life but omitting characters and events they may not want to talk about but simply having blank pages.

It is a way of humiliating the other, of having wiped them out. Thank you, Jade!
