Persistence

nature bounces back
in the form of disasters
if abused, but shows
stories of survival

         it knows

power to manipulate
not only corrupts
but addicts the world
to remote control devices

              yet

it refuses to collaborate
with its tormentors
it refuses to believe
what they believe

           and

fairy tales write themselves
in man-made holograms
a child believes once again —
innocence will reclaim the earth
