A wildlife photographer captured the beauty of the tiger’s graceful leap in the air. There is considerable rage amongst conservationists on her state-sponsored killing. She killed humans, but only to defend her cubs.
A few days later, the cubs were found in a forest and ‘rescued’ by human beings. There is speculation that they could turn out to be man-eaters if they’ve seen their mother attacking humans.
“Are we really concerned about saving these beautiful creatures?” My photographer friend is livid with rage.
“If you want tourism, create tales around the animal. Add a little evil to create interest, and confirmation bias will lead people to believe what they cannot see.”
“Are you out of your head? I’m talking about saving them.”
“Those cubs will be spotted off and on, and videos will be devoured, coupled with storytelling. Can’t you see the grandeur? India will have its own Loch Ness.”

If it helps to save the tigers then it’s a good thing – although there never was a Nessie in the first place!

That is another point of view 🙂 UFOs or Yeti come next.

Nice way you have brought in ecological tourism, tiger conservatism and married it with modern day consumerist interests. Loved this Reena.
