the moon is still dark
night moving towards dawn
adept at hiding
underlying dark stories
of those who escape

other worlds are few
all in the glare of the sun
balls moving on orbs
to prove universal truths,
protect honor of the sun

darkness belies
efforts to hide my sins
in the eye of storm
pushed away by shafts of light
from strong arms of the night
I negotiate life

emergent
rays of sunshine
uphold truth
