Summer died that night
global warming submerged
in frozen oceans
overturned
as humanity
forgot to breathe
a cold terror
of anti-humans
took over reins
of the world.
unseeing eyes
unfeeling skins
hear sounds of disaster
in their muted existence
they belong to
an extinct species
which understood pain
now anaesthetized
by the numbness
of winter.

I like where you took this prompt – it unfolded so well into that most chlling forecast of climate change

Thanks! You could also see it as a metaphor for good and evil. It will feel as chiilling, but different.

I must really be into the environmental poetry this week. The seasonal feelings in this one merged well with the seriousness of global warming.

I like to think I receive signals from the universe at time. Search engines and algorithms do the rest in showing us similar things š. Thanks!
