Half-life

While others calculated my half-life, I made full use of the other half to blossom.

There is no water in the pool, but I’m not a mermaid anymore. I’ve metamorphosed into human form, and developed a pair of legs. I can run and escape, before the half-life ends.

Half-life (symbol t_1⁄2) is the time required for a quantity to reduce to half its initial value. The term is commonly used in nuclear physics to describe how quickly unstable atoms undergo, or how long stable atoms survive, radioactive decay.
