Fireworks

It was a never-before display of fireworks in that small place, after the resounding victory of a political candidate.The entire town was out to watch the grand show, other than the guests at the party. Nobody noticed a dark blue jeep slinking away at high speed in the night.

The news next morning carried the report of the newly appointed Mayor’s murder. The sound of gunshots had gone unnoticed amidst fireworks.
