Back then

My wife’s parents are spending the summer with us. Our daughters are now teenagers who lead their own lives, and don’t care much about parents hanging around with them on weekends.

Yet, the old man cannot refrain from sharing a bit of advice.

“You two should not be spending so much time at the movies. In our times, we were more responsible parents.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes. Why?”

“When do you think I came to meet your daughter? Remember the gate on the backside of House no. 595….?”

I chuckled, as my wife rolled her eyes from behind the curtain.
